TRAFAIR - Understanding Traffic Flows to Improve Air Quality

The TRAFAIR project aimed to improve air quality by understanding and predicting traffic flows in urban environments. As Task Leader for Task 1.2 (Development of tools for automatic/semi-automatic population of a unified input dataset) and Task 6.2 (Web Platform), I coordinated the release of multiple deliverables [RT1-9].
I developed a Smart City Data Platform using PostgreSQL with PostGIS and Timescale extensions for storing spatial and time-series data (435 GB of data for Modena alone). The platform was successfully implemented in three cities: Modena (Italy), Santiago de Compostela (Spain), and Zaragoza (Spain). I also contributed to creating the SenseBoard dashboard for monitoring air quality sensors and the project website.
The project received the “Premio PA sostenibile” award at Forum PA 2019 as one of 100 projects to achieve the UN 2030 Agenda goals.
